The symbol of 21st-century architectural development
52 Lime Street, known as The Scalpel, is a modern skyscraper located in the financial district of London, United Kingdom. Designed by the Kohn Pedersen Fox architecture studio, the building was completed in 2018 and reaches a height of 190 meters, distributed over 38 floors. Its angular design and reflective glass facade give it a unique appearance, which contrasts with other architectural icons in the area such as The Gherkin and The Cheesegrater. Mainly intended for offices, The Scalpel houses important companies in the financial and insurance sectors.

THE PROJECT
52 Lime Street is characterized by its innovative design that combines aesthetics and functionality. Its interior spaces offer modern, bright and efficient environments, designed to promote productivity. Furthermore, its location in the heart of the City of London easily connects it to important transport stations. As part of the London skyline, The Scalpel reflects the contemporary and dynamic spirit of the city, establishing itself as a symbol of 21st century architectural development.
OUR SOLUTION
The main challenge present in this Project was to integrate the machine within the architecture of the building, hiding it when it was not in use to avoid visual contamination.
The scope of supply for this Project was 2 SJ machines of 16 and 13 meters.
